Washington tribes react to Trump's interior secretary pick

President-elect Trump announced last month he wants North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to replace Deb Haaland as interior secretary. The Interior Department, among other things, oversees the federal government’s treaty obligations to tribes.

Haaland is known for going to bat for tribes, particularly in Washington, but the tribes remain hopeful about Burgum.
