Never Turn Back: Echoes of African American Music unveils the profound legacy of Gospel, Blues, Jazz, and Soul artists who shaped the soundscape of American culture and used their music as instruments of resistance, identity, and representation.
Gospel, Blues, Jazz, and Soul embody the profound influence of African American music on culture and history. From the spiritual foundations and transformative movements of Gospel hymns to the revolutionary improvisations of Jazz, the Blues’ Southern roots rising from the Mississippi Delta, and Soul’s powerful amplification of the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements, these genres have defined the unique sound and undying spirit of a nation that continues to echo through contemporary Black music today.
This is a permanent exhibition. Since time immemorial, Tribal nations have existed in this place we call Washington. This Is Native Land invites visitors to understand Washington State through the lived experiences and voices of its Native people.
Tribal nations are sovereign nations. Today, Native history, culture, and community thrive in our state. Through everyday acts of sovereignty – big and small – Indigenous peoples demonstrate they are still here, they have persevered, and they will always be here.
This Is Native Land is guided by three teachings:We are of the land and watersWith knowledge comes responsibilitySovereignty protects people, lands, and waters
These teachings are shared through multimedia, artwork, and interactive objects designed for guest engagement. They represent a contemporary continuation of Tribal stories and traditions.
Over 100 Native contributors from more than 60 Tribes shaped the exhibition’s stories and content. We thank the Native Advisory Committee and all community participants for their contributions.

This one-of-a-kind display invites guests on an exhilarating journey through the evolution of American supercars. From early speed pioneers to cutting-edge modern marvels, visitors will experience a stunning lineup of vehicles that have redefined engineering, speed, and style, built by a wide range of American automotive manufacturers like Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Saleen himself, and even some more obscure ones like Vector, Cunningham, and Hennessey. From roaring V8s to sleek carbon-fiber bodies, discover how American automakers pushed boundaries, challenged European rivals, and redefined what a supercar could be. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see some of the most thrilling and historically significant American-made performance vehicles ever built—all under one roof.

Walk surrounded by an ancient forest in Squaxin Park only 2 minutes north of downtown Olympia, WA. After a welcome to the land and guided meditation, we'll stroll in silence, and tune into the sights and sounds of towering 100 to 500 year-old trees. Explore 2 miles of trails at a comfortable pace under the canopy of a living forest that is a thriving ecosystem, a network of soil fungi, called the "Wood Wide Web." Marvel at the discovery that trees are social, they communicate and nurture each other. Listen to a tree sing using my device that converts the tree's electric signals into notes.

A herd of animal sculptures and wild paintings fills Northwind Art's gallery in downtown Port Townsend. The show, titled “New Work by Randy Sturgis and Peter Koronakos” features Randy's giant acrylic-charcoal-oil paintings and Peter's animals made of found objects. Together, they make a rich gallery environment. You can even pick up one of the scavenger hunt game cards as you roam around the show. The gallery is open 12 noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays; this exhibit runs through May 4. Also: during Port Townsend's first-Saturday Art Walk, you can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments and conversation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 4 and May 2.
Join Mary Charlee Designs, Eastside Rebuild, and Wenatchee River Institute for a free Upcycled Craft-ernoon in preparation for our upcoming Trashion Show! We will have several craft stations that will include using sewing machines, recycled materials, and maybe even some tools from Eastside Rebuild's library to create something new from used materials! Make flowers, sashes, or Trashion Show Voting Boxes with us, or come up with your own project! Trashion Show Teams can bring their garment to work on as well.
Saturday, April 4 at Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery, you're invited to a public talk about art and joy, at 3 PM. Seattle artist Lacy Muhich, former Creative Director for Amazon's global brand, will discuss her art work: a tactile, grounding practice of building beauty by hand. Lacy will be surrounded by the vivid sculptures she has brought into the gallery at 701 Water Street. Lacy's works, including pieces titled "Flow," and "The Story Keeper," are in the Northwind gallery's Showcase 2026 exhibit. More information and images are found at NorthwindArt.org.
