Marisa Anderson channels the history of the guitar and stretches the boundaries of tradition. Her fluid, emotionally rich playing transforms composition and improvisation into something wholly her own. The New Yorker calls Anderson "one of the most distinctive guitar players of her generation," while NPR has described her as among "this era's most powerful players."

Italian acoustic guitar virtuoso Luca Stricagnoli is bringing his acclaimed High Voltage Tour to the Walton Theatre in Bellingham this September as part of a global tour spanning fifty plus cities across fourteen countries.
Stricagnoli is one of the most in-demand touring artists in the acoustic genre, performing reimagined rock classics and mind-bending originals. Regularly performing in more than thirty countries worldwide, his live shows are defined by their consistency and impact, always ending with standing ovations and insistent encore requests. A combination of spectacle and artistry, Stricagnoli’s shows feature his signature self-designed triple-neck guitar. His style is kinetic and multi-layered, where he performs all parts simultaneously — melody, bass, and percussion — to recreate the fullness of a complete band.

In The Goldberg Variations, Canadian performance artist Clayton Lee freely references and entangles queer diasporic sexuality and aesthetics with classical music (Johann Sebastian Bach) and professional wrestling (Bill Goldberg). Using deadpan humor, generosity, and a low-vibrating mischievousness to facilitate and indulge the “what-ifs” of the live encounter, Clayton guides the audience through his sexual history while conjuring and perhaps manifesting new fantasies at the exact same time. The Goldberg Variations is an unhinged and reckless deep dive into power dynamics, sexual desire, Domination/submission, heartbreak, vulnerability, tenderness, and the tensions that exist within.

Released on their own Lettuce Records label, the band's next studio album offers a menu of delights that marks a band exploring new sonic territory. For these six life-long partners, the new songs feel like a nourishing meal that entices all of your senses.
Like 2019's Elevate, 2020's Resonate and 2022's Unify, before it, Cook was recorded at Colorado Sound just outside East Coast transplants Deitch, Smirnoff, and Bloom's adopted home of Denver, where they gathered in one room to work on the new material. Ryan Zoidis did a masterful job mixing the final results with longtime Grammy-nominated engineer Jesse O'Brien.
On the new album, Lettuce has expanded its ever-widening musical palette again. Coming off tours with both rap icon GZA of Wu-Tang Clan and and reggae legend Ziggy Marley while earlier in this year releasing the live album and concert film 'Lettuce with the Colorado Symphony' capturing over 90 minutes of collaborative symphonic arrangements with the Colorado Symphony.
A Brief History of the Festival:
DjangoFest Northwest was founded in 2000 to honor the legacy of Django Reinhardt and bring the spirit of Gypsy jazz to North America. The festival was launched 25 years ago on the 47th anniversary of Django’s passing, inspired by the original French festival. Since then, DjangoFest NW has found a home on Whidbey Island, Washington, and has grown into the largest and most celebrated Django-focused festival in North America. Each year, we continue to honor founder Nick Lehr with the annual Nick Lehr Memorial Djam and welcome world-class artists and enthusiastic audiences from around the world.

Styled by the Streets: Black Women in Hip-Hop Fashion explores how Black women transform Hip-Hop fashion into a cultural and political force, transcending the boundaries of music to influence global style, self-expression, and identity. From streetwear to couture, hair to jewelry, and iconic photography, the exhibition showcases style as a powerful expression of Black womanhood across 30 unique artifacts. Layered in late 1990s and early 2000s denim, holographic finishes, and Y2K palettes, the gallery highlights the artists and cultural creators who bring these iconic looks to life—centering the women visionaries whose creativity reshapes Black and Hip-Hop communities through storytelling, authorship, and legacy.
