Washington State University football coach Nick Rolovich and four of his assistant coaches are out of work. They were fired Monday, after failing to comply with Gov. Jay Inslee's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Rolovich had applied for a religious exemption, but was denied. WSU athletic director Pat Chun called the situation "disheartening."

KNKX sports commentator Art Thiel joined Morning Edition host Kirsten Kendrick on Tuesday morning to discuss the situation and what it means for the WSU football program.
