The New Cool: Sub-mission Part 2

Skerik's Bandalabra live at Nectar July 21, 2017.
Abe Beeson
Skerik: A sax-boy and his effects pedals.

KNKX Music Director Nick Francis subs once again for Abe Beeson this week, back to regular hosting duties next time, hep cats!

Tonight in Fremont, Abe is spinning tracks from his extensive vinyl collection, opening for NW Jazz icons Living Daylights (2 sets!) featuring Jessica Lurie on saxes and flute (& vocals?), Arne Livingston on bass and Dale Fanning behind the drums. In between the two sets, Skerik, Andy Coe and D'Vonne Lewis return to the stage (stellar jams with Skerik's Bandalabra last night) with Joe Doria's Hammond organ as OG McTuff!

Look for a post/review feature on Jessica Lurie next week, and enjoy Nick Francis on The New Cool one more time this weekend!

The New Cool airs Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. The program is hosted by Abe Beeson Nick Francis this week, and produced by KNKX Public Radio in Seattle, Wash.
