Tig Notaro is an Emmy and Grammy nominated stand-up comedian, actor, writer, podcaster, and radio contributor, as well as a favorite on numerous talk shows, including THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT and THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON. Rolling Stone named her one of the “50 best stand-up comics of all time.” Her special, TIG NOTARO: HELLO AGAIN, premiered in March of 2024 on Amazon, garnering multiple Emmy nominations.
Notaro can be seen in THE MORNING SHOW on Apple TV and both STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the upcoming STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY on Paramount+. She also appears in the Netflix films, YOUR PLACE OR MINE and WE HAVE A GHOST, and Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD. Notaro wrote and starred in the groundbreaking TV show ONE MISSISSIPPI and co-directed the GLAAD-nominated feature film AM I OK? with her wife, Stephanie Allynne, which debuted at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and premiered on HBO MAX in 2024.
Notaro hosts the critically acclaimed podcast, HANDSOME with friends Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin. She is also the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir, I’M JUST A PERSON. Additionally, Tig produced the documentary COME SEE ME IN THE GOOD LIGHT, which won the Festival Favorite award at Sundance in 2025 and premiered on November 14th on Apple TV and in select theaters.
In this unhinged solo performance, self-proclaimed “experimental clown artist” Alex Tatarsky ushers audiences through an absurdist hellscape of the mind. Equal parts sad clown, demented cabaret, and extended crisis of meaning, Sad Boys in Harpy Land confronts anguish through humor in a spiraling narrative of artmaking and despair.
Through a series of existential vignettes, Tatarsky fuses autobiographical bones of their own story onto those of equally tormented protagonists from sources including Goethe, Dante, Amiri Baraka, Helen Adams, and Seinfeld. A coming-apart coming-of-age story, Tatarsky presents a highly calibrated mess in a tour-de-farce performance that challenges the idea of individual malady, and instead embraces the turbulent maze of shared struggle.

Styled by the Streets: Black Women in Hip-Hop Fashion explores how Black women transform Hip-Hop fashion into a cultural and political force, transcending the boundaries of music to influence global style, self-expression, and identity. From streetwear to couture, hair to jewelry, and iconic photography, the exhibition showcases style as a powerful expression of Black womanhood across 30 unique artifacts. Layered in late 1990s and early 2000s denim, holographic finishes, and Y2K palettes, the gallery highlights the artists and cultural creators who bring these iconic looks to life—centering the women visionaries whose creativity reshapes Black and Hip-Hop communities through storytelling, authorship, and legacy.
The Four Tops started their musical career as the Four Aims at a house party in Detroit in 1954. They changed the group's name to The Four Tops to avoid confusion with a popular group of the day, the Ames Brothers. A smooth lounge act, the Tops stuck to standards and ballads and recorded for at least four other record companies before Berry Gordy signed them to Motown in 1964.
Their breakthrough hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving,” was produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland in 1964, and was followed by greater success with “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” in 1965, the Tops’ first #1 hit. Other hits were released during this period, including “It’s the Same Old Song,” “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over)” and “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.” “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” released in 1966, was the group’s biggest Motown hit. It could also be considered The Four Tops’ theme song, as it musically expressed the feelings of solidarity and brotherly love group members felt for one another.
The Four Tops continued to churn out hits for Motown with releases that included “Standing in the Shadows of Love” and “Bernadette,” both of which placed well on the R&B and pop charts. The quartet performed together for more than forty years, without a single personnel change, separated only by the death of group member Lawrence Payton in 1997.
Like other Motown artists, The Four Tops occupy a place of high honor among rhythm and blues royalty. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, the Tops also received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and were ranked #79 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Gospel, Blues, Jazz, and Soul embody the profound influence of African American music on culture and history. From the spiritual foundations and transformative movements of Gospel hymns to the revolutionary improvisations of Jazz, the Blues’ Southern roots rising from the Mississippi Delta, and Soul’s powerful amplification of the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements, these genres have defined the unique sound and undying spirit of a nation that continues to echo through contemporary Black music today.
This is a permanent exhibition. Since time immemorial, Tribal nations have existed in this place we call Washington. This Is Native Land invites visitors to understand Washington State through the lived experiences and voices of its Native people.
Tribal nations are sovereign nations. Today, Native history, culture, and community thrive in our state. Through everyday acts of sovereignty – big and small – Indigenous peoples demonstrate they are still here, they have persevered, and they will always be here.
This Is Native Land is guided by three teachings:We are of the land and watersWith knowledge comes responsibilitySovereignty protects people, lands, and waters
These teachings are shared through multimedia, artwork, and interactive objects designed for guest engagement. They represent a contemporary continuation of Tribal stories and traditions.
Over 100 Native contributors from more than 60 Tribes shaped the exhibition’s stories and content. We thank the Native Advisory Committee and all community participants for their contributions.
