Former Rick’s strip club going back to stripping?

KOMO-TV reports that the old Rick’s strip club on Lake City Way sold in June for $2.35 million has a new sign – “DreamGirls at Rick’s.”

DreamGirls is part of the Déjà Vu company and it appears that company will be running the property, which was seized last fall by investigators as part of a wide-ranging racketeering investigation of Frank Colacurcio, Seattle's most famous organized-crime figure.

At the time Paul Baxley of the U.S. Marshal's declined to say who bought the club.

No use permits are required from the Department of Planning and Development to make Rick's a strip club again, because the previous use permit doesn't expire, department spokesman Bryan Stevens told KOMO earlier this year.

It's possible the new owner might need a construction permit of some sort, Stevens told KOMO, but that wouldn't require a neighborhood review, just that the new owner meet technical codes.

Déjà Vu runs several strip clubs in and around Seattle.
