Thousands in WA have dropped health insurance since subsidies expired

Thousands of people in Washington state are dropping their Affordable Care Act insurance after Congress allowed federal health subsidies to expire last year.

Around 40,000 fewer people in Washington signed up for health insurance through Washington Health Plan Finder compared to 2025, according to new data from the state.
