Gov. Ferguson appoints longtime civil rights attorney to the state Supreme Court

Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson announced Monday that he’s appointing longtime civil rights attorney Colleen Melody to the state Supreme Court.

Melody is replacing Justice Mary Yu on the nine-judge panel. Yu is retiring at the end of the year and Melody will join the court in January.
