Flugelhorn player Dmitri Matheny celebrated the release of his new album "Cascadia" with a quintet performance in the KNKX studios.

Celebrating his new album with a two week tour through the Pacific Northwest, Dmitri Matheny will join us for a KNKX Studio Session on July 19. In an interview with jazz reporter Robin Lloyd, he spoke about "Cascadia," getting back on the road after COVID shutdowns, and his mentor Art Farmer.

Guitarist Dave Peterson has been the "secret sauce" in the Seattle jazz scene for decades. He taught at Cornish College of the Arts for 35 years, and has added his graceful tones to countless performances and recordings. He's a composer, too, having penned more than 100 works for bands of all sizes.
