July Fourth Naturalization Ceremony At Seattle Center Will Swear In 500 New Citizens

Seattle Center Naturalization Ceremony In 2017

The annual naturalization ceremony at the Seattle Center will take place at Fisher Pavilion on July Fourth beginning at 11:15 a.m. The naturalization ceremony has been held annually at the Seattle Center for 34 years.

This year, 500 people from 80 countries will take the oath to become U.S. citizens. U.S. Circuit Court Judge Richard C. Tallman will swear in the new citizens. Speakers will include Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, Gov.Jay Inslee and Sen. Maria Cantwell.

The event is free and open to the public.

Paula grew up in Idaho and, prior to KNKX, worked in public radio and television in Boise, San Francisco and upstate New York.
