Each year, Hilltop Artists students and alums work together with the MOG artists to create the centerpiece sculptures for our annual fundraising luncheon.
Visit the artists at the Museum of Glass where they will work together August 12th through August 16th. We highly recommend you make some time to visit on Sunday, August 16th when Executive Director Kimberly Keith will give a talk about the creative process and share Hilltop Artists updates.

Glass vessels evocative of the highly ornamented Baroque style, black silhouettes embedded in scenes on ancient pottery vessels, and medallion reliefs of Black figures all abide in the deliberate, expansive practice of Jason McDonald. McDonald’s visual language is deeply rooted in research of ancient histories, traditional techniques, and race. Here, contemporary ideas blend and transform tradition with caring attention to detail, precision in thought, and beauty. Motivated by glass—with its magical properties, myriads of endless possibilities and potential—McDonald’s devotion lies in the desire to refine the craft, making his hands more familiar and knowledgeable with each replication. Through his repetition and re-imagination of these historical forms, the objects transform into sculptures and vessels of time, carrying with them the essence of centuries-old traditions, as well as McDonald’s commitment and insertion of the representation and notions of Black identity. With a commitment to the craft that transcends his own work, McDonald diligently carves out space for those who will follow him through mentoring and the creation of his own glass studio, which he has named Ideal Conditions.

Each bundle includes coffee or juice, plus one brunch entrée per guest from a curated menu:
- Eggs Your Way: two eggs, toast, choice of bacon or sausage, hashbrowns or side salad
- Black Garlic Caesar: romaine, black garlic dressing, croutons, parmesan crisp
- Seasonal Fruit Dutch Baby: local seasonal fruit compote, whipped cream, maple syrup

Childhood's End Gallery presents Form a Line, a group exhibition of new work by four distinct Pacific Northwest artists. Finding common ground in bold representation of the natural world, Kathy Anderson, Colleen Cotey, Sara Gettys, and Julia Janeway each bring a practiced sensitivity to their chosen mediums. Through processes that remove material or add it, these four artists present new works rooted in an intimate knowledge of place and material.
Join us Sunday, August 16, 2026, as we set sail for a day of exploration and education on the water! This fun-filled boating excursion, on a private yacht, celebrates our beautifully unique estuary ecosystem. We’ll cruise by south sound islands on our way to a surprise location where we will enjoy a catered lunch off the yacht. We will leave Port Plaza dock at 10 am and plan to return to that location around 4 pm.
Laura Busby, who has a heartfelt passion for helping people connect with nature and the environment, will be this year’s onboard educator. Her work as a naturalist and environmental educator across a wide range of settings and organizations, including urban nature centers, historical farms, schools, state and national parks, and zoos, has shaped her professional career. Today, she volunteers with the Puget Sound Estuarium, Nisqually/Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge, and Grays Harbor Audubon. Estuarium roles include leading Urban Birding programs, training Meet the Beach Naturalists on visitor engagement techniques, and supporting Pier Peer programs.

The Seattle Tattoo Expo returns to Seattle Center August 14–16, bringing a unique showcase of tattoo culture and history, fan-favorite contests, burlesque shows, karaoke, and more. Hosted by Seattle's own Hidden Hand Tattoo and Supergenius Tattoo, the expo brings more than 250 tattoo artists from around the world to Seattle for one weekend only, including legendary artists Vyvyn Lazonga, Shawn Barber, Tony Hundahl, and Big Gus. Tattoo appointments can be made in advance or on-site, depending on the artist. Since launching in 2001, the expo has grown into the largest tattoo event in the Pacific Northwest.
