Seattle Jazz Fellowship presents Jazz Night in Pioneer Square - July 2025
Sponsored by KNKX. On Tuesday, July 29th, Seattle Jazz Fellowship and the Alliance For Pioneer Square are presenting the second “Jazz Night In Pioneer Square,” a jazz-walk style event featuring fourteen jazz groups across fourteen venues and locations in historic Pioneer Square. The event features some of Seattle’s best-loved local jazz talent and is completely free of charge.
Scheduled to appear are Beserat Tafesse, Sidney Hauser, Elnah Jordan, Paul Richardson, Kelsey Mines, Alex Dugdale, Tim Kennedy, Bill Anschell, Jaqueline Tabor, Line Up w/ Dawn Clement and Mark Taylor, Free Fall w/ Thomas Marriott, Jeff Johnson, John Bishop & Rick Mandyck, Joe Doria’s V3, D’Vonne Lewis and Dylan Hayes. Participating venues include Bacovino, Skid Road Theatre / Beneath The Streets, Zeitgeist Coffee, Cafe Paloma, Asylum Arts Collective, Court In The Square, Hometeam, Frederick Holmes Gallery, Long Brothers Fine & Rare Books, Seattle Jazz Fellowship, Baba Yaga, The Central Saloon, Bad Bishop and Underbelly. The evening concludes with an after party at the longest-running jam session in Seattle, held at the Owl N’ Thistle every Tuesday since 1997. The jam session starts around 9:30 p.m. and ends at 1:00 a.m.
The first “Jazz Night In Pioneer Square,” presented by Seattle Jazz Fellowship in mid-February, had close to 2500 people turn out, jamming every venue to capacity with crowds spilling into the streets. The organizers expect a similar audience for the summer edition and are hoping to regain some of the fun that was part of the multi-venue joint cover charge in Pioneer Square during the 80’s and 90’s, when listeners could hear dozens of bands on a single night by paying just one cover. Thanks to support from The Alliance for Pioneer Square and KNKX 88.5 FM, the event is free of charge and reservations are not necessary. Attendees simply need to show up, ready for fun. The Central Saloon, Baba Yaga, Underbelly, Bad Bishop Lounge & The Owl N Thistle are 21 and older only. All other venues are all-ages.
Seattle Jazz Fellowship is a non-profit organization founded in 2021 to promote jazz music and culture at the local level. Since its founding, the organization has produced more than 300 jazz events in Seattle, featuring mostly local artists.
