Endangered fin whale found dead at Port of Tacoma

State wildlife officials say the remains of the dead whale that was pushed into the Port of Tacoma early Monday were taken to a site on nearby McNeil Island. The animal was identified as a 67-foot-long adult female fin whale. Experts there conducted a necropsy. Based on the findings, they believe the whale was alive when struck by that vessel.
