A procession and a memorial service for Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel McCartney will be held Wednesday near Tacoma.
McCartney, 34, was fatally shot while responding to a burglary in Frederickson on Jan. 7.
The procession is set to leave at 11 a.m. from the north gate of Joint Base Lewis-McChord. From there, it will travel generally south around Spanaway Lake Park, then north on Pacific Avenue South toward Pacific Lutheran University.
The Pierce County Sheriff's department is encouraging members of the public to line the route.

The memorial service will then be held from 1-3 p.m. in Olson Auditorium at Pacific Lutheran University.
The sheriff's department notes that space in the auditorium is limited. Overflow will be redirected to other buildings on campus where the service will be livestreamed.
There will also be no public parking available. But people can park at the Church for all Nations at 111 112th St. E. in Parkland, where shuttles will run to the university beginning at 11:15 a.m.
Two people, Frank Pawul and Brenda Troyer, have been charged with murder in McCartney's death. A third suspect, Henry Carden, was killed. Authorities say he shot himself in the head.
