Excitement meets anxiety as in-person classes begin at UW

On Wednesday, students walked into lecture halls at the University of Washington for the first time since the pandemic began. The Seattle campus swarmed with students greeting each other, lugging around heavy backpacks and sporting masks.

The university has put several precautions in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including a vaccine mandate and an indoor mask requirement.

KNKX’s Anya Steinberg spoke to a few brand new Huskies about how it feels to start college in this confusing phase of the pandemic.
