Cloudy skies, milder temps and showers will continue over the weekend around Puget Sound, says knkx weather expert Cliff Mass.

Relatively mild temperatures and typical damp, showery weather will continue this weekend, providing more relief from the cold spell that lasted through last weekend. And next week will be drier while remaining warm, says knkx weather expert Cliff Mass.

“We’re talking about normal weather,” said Mass, predicting temperatures in the mid- to upper 40s and showery skies from Friday through Sunday. “Typical for this time of the year,” he said.

Scattered Rain Showers This Weekend

Mass says a series of weather systems will be rotating through this weekend.

“We have this deep low-pressure center right off the coast. And pulses of moisture will be just circulating around,” he said.

He says Friday morning’s dry skies will be disrupted by a band of showers coming in later in the day.

“Another one should come through later in the afternoon on Saturday and another one on Sunday,” Mass said, but “after that, things really dry out.”

Dry Next Week

He says a ridge of higher pressure will develop from Monday to Thursday over the eastern Pacific, which will keep things pretty dry through much of next week, with temperatures getting up to the upper 40s. “Maybe even 50 in a few places,” Mass said.

“So, actually, after a lot of bad weather, it’s going to get pretty calm and pretty nice for a while.”
