Washington state's first museum of Latino culture, history opens in Seattle

Oct 25, 2019

A first-of-its-kind museum has opened in the Pacific Northwest: a historical showcase of the state's Spanish-speaking communities from World War II to the present. KNKX's Rebekah Way takes us to the museum's celebratory opening day in this audio postcard.

The Sea Mar Museum of Chicano/a Latino/a Culture is housed in Seattle's South Park neighborhood. Visitors can step inside farm workers' cabins from Eastern Washington or explore artifacts from members of the United Farm Workers Union, organized by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta.
