Sending gratitude to those who help us travel, especially this time of year

Nov 22, 2018

Thanksgiving kicks off a holiday travel season that's famously busy and stressful for many. Travelers can face long lines at airports, winter weather delays, difficult drives, and so much more.

So it's become something of a tradition on our weekly travel segment, "Going Places," to reflect on those who make the experience a little easier.

Who is that for you? It doesn't have to be a monumental act.

Maybe it's a ticket agent at an airport who helped your group get seats together. Perhaps a flight attendant quietly passed out earplugs while a baby screamed in the back row. Or maybe that baggage handler you spotted out the window before your plane pushed back took extra care to keep your luggage in good shape.

Or maybe it's something bigger than that — like a person who intervened while you were in trouble and far away from home.

Whether you have someone in mind or not, we hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday, and we're certainly grateful you've taken the time to join us on our weekly travel adventures.

"Going Places" is 88.5's weekly exploration of travel. Our travel expert, Matthew Brumley, is co-founder of Earthbound Expeditions on Bainbridge Island, which provides small group travel to clients including KNKX. Never miss an episode again.
