Loverboy Fan Becomes Instant Rock Star

Steve Fournier on stage at the Loverboy concert last fall.

This story orginally aired on February 24, 2018.

This past September, Steve Fournier expected to go out with his friends to see one of his favorite Rock bands, Loverboy, in concert. What he didn’t expect is for lead singer, Mike Reno, to get the flu and only be able to perform a couple songs. Reno’s wife started talking to the crowd to find someone in the audience to take his place.

Fournier’s friends started pointing at him telling her to pull him up on stage.

“The people that were around me started chanting my name, and I was like this is just too much. I don’t know what’s going on,” said Fournier

So Fournier found himself suddenly on stage, with one of his favorite legendary Rock icons, being asked if he knew the words to Loverboy’s songs. Mike Reno came out and put his headband on Fournier’s head as he started the performance.

He not only knew the words to Turn Me Loose, he could really sing and became an instant hit as the crowd went wild.
