Coldest temps tonight; chance of snow Thanksgiving Day

Forecasters say freezing temperatures will be with us through Thanksgiving morning, with the coldest lows of this winterly blast expected tonight.

Overnight lows in western Washington will dip into the low teens and single digits.  The Cascade foothills and northwest Washington could see lows between 7 and 9 degrees Fahrenheit. Seattle-Tacoma-Everett area lows are forecast at 12 to 14 degrees, according to the National Weather Service

If you're travel plans for Thanksgiving hadn't changed already, the prospect of morning snow showers Thanksgiving Day may impact them.  Models anticipate moist air coming in Wednesday evening, making the chance of overnight and Thursday morning snow "likely."  A half-inch or less is expected in and around Seattle.

By Thanksgiving afternoon, warmer temperatures mean snow will turn to rain. High temperatures on Thanksgiving Day are expected to be in the mid to upper 30's around the Puget Sound area.

For the remainder of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the News Tribune reports:

Grab the umbrella and galoshes if you plan to go Christmas shopping over the weekend. Looks like rain and temperatures in the 40s for Friday and Saturday.
