Jovino Santos Neto solos on Jazz Northwest

LUZ cover image.jpg
Jovino Santos Neto's latest album Luz.

Jovino Santos Neto played his most recent solo piano album "Luz" in one continuous session, like a live performance. It's a very enjoyable set and it engages the listener like an actual concert. We'll play some more music from this album on this week's episode. Also on this week's show, Eugene Jones sings one of her original songs, "Red Dress," and Vancouver saxophonist Cory Weeds is joined by fellow saxophonist Eric Alexander and an organ trio in the theme from "The Godfather."

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
