Sound Effect is your weekly tour of ideas, inspired by the place we live. The show is hosted by KNKX's Gabriel Spitzer. Each week's show explores a different theme, and this week our mötley crüe has produced stories for you about teamwork.

Gabriel Spitzer talks with racer, Rachel Scdoris, about how she worked with a teammate to navigate and finish the Iditarod race even though she is legally blind.

Sound Effect's Intern Brie Ripley takes us into a world of snitches, bludgers, and quaffles. If you've read the Harry Potter books, or have seen the movies, you'll know what we're talking about—it's a sport called quidditch. But it's not just a sport played out in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Eric Andres is the founder and captain of Seattle's very own quidditch team, the Emerald City Admirals. He tells us about the earnest collaboration and unwavering effort that is universally shared among all sports, including those played on broomsticks.

After 20 years of working at Mama's Mexican Kitchen, Bella Biagio is going to be out of a job soon. KNKX's EdRonco speaks with Biagio about the tightly-knit team, soon to be estranged, at Belltown's beloved Mexican food palace of enchiladas and artful odes to Elvis.

When it's hot in Seattle, it's even warmer in our living spaces. So Sound Effect Producer KevinKniestedtteamed up with KNKX's Midday Jazz host Dick Stein to create a D.I.Y. air conditioning contraption. After utilizing viral tutorials from YouTube, this ragtag radio team walks us through their experience creating and collaborating to escape their sweaty fate.

On this week's news panel we are joined by Tanya Mosley, Nina Shapiro, and Kari Plog
