If you don't have to be on the roads today you're being asked to stay home. State and local transportation officials around western Washington say conditions remain extremely poor, and won't improve much as the region remains in a deep freeze.

The state DOT site has the latest traffic conditions for state roads.

Metro Transit (and most other local transit agencies) are operating on snow routes today, and making no promises that buses will get to their appointed stops, as spinout and accidents plague commuters. A Metro statement issued late Monday stated warned of long waits for buses:

Buses will be crowded and significantly delayed, perhaps even worse than Monday, due to road conditions. If those conditions severely deteriorate overnight, Metro may have to cancel entire bus routes in the morning.

Fourteen Metro routes have been suspended.
