Protests in Westlake Park are expected to grow in size Friday and Saturday as labor union members and Afghan war protestors join Occupy Seattle protestors.
Union representatives have visited Westlake Park and voiced their support for Occupy Seattle protesters.
"It's their [Occupy Seattle's] movement, but it's our message," Washington State Labor Council spokeswoman Kathy Cummings told The Seattle Times.
Union members are planning to join the Westlake Park protests at noon on Friday and again on Saturday.
Anti-war protestors are also expected to march on Westlake Park at 4:30 Friday afternoon. The group called The World Can't Wait timed the march in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the U.S. invasion in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Occupy Portland protesters spent a rainy night in downtown Portland as they continue a demonstration in support of New York's Occupy Wall Street Movement.
The protesters marched through downtown, coming to rest at Lounsdale Park and Chapman Square, both about a block from Portland's City Hall. Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau confirmed the city decided not to enforce a no-camping rule for any protestors staying in the park past midnight.
