If you're a fan of KNKX's Tree of Jazz, Sundays from 3-6 p.m., that explores the roots, branches, and leaves of the jazz tree with host Justus Sanchez, we hope you'll join us for our Tree of Jazz Listening Party on June 25 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Seattle Jazz Fellowship, located at 103 S. Main Street in Pioneer Square.
Justus will take listeners behind the scenes of Tree of Jazz and share highlights from the last 18 months of the show. Starting with the roots of the jazz tree, he’ll talk about vintage artists he unearthed, bringing histories that were lost in time to the fore. Next, Justus will talk about branch artists that have been influential in driving or “seeding” current artists. Then he’ll look at new, budding leaves–artists who’ve sprung from the branches of the jazz tree and have taken things in new directions.
