Now, in our 5th anniversary production, we invite you to rediscover Dickens’ timeless tale of hope, redemption, and the true spirit of the season. Whether it’s your first visit or a return to a beloved tradition, this year promises to be the most memorable yet—with a reworked script, new characters, an updated set, new special effects, and all the warmth, music, and holiday magic you’ve come to cherish. Field Arts & Events Hall is delighted to welcome Sam Grisman back to the Donna M. Morris Theater for a special evening with friends!

SAM GRISMAN ON HIS PROJECT:
The music that my father David Grisman and his close friend, Jerry Garcia, made in the early 90s (in the house that I grew up in) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers my oldest and fondest musical memories. What I find most inspiring about this material is the way their camaraderie and their love and joy for the music, simply oozes out of each recording. It is also impressive how deeply they get beneath their favorite songs—whether they are originals, covers or traditional/old time tunes—and how expertly that material was curated.

My goal in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a platform for my friends and me to showcase our genuine passion and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music. By playing some of their beloved repertoire and sharing the original music that our own collective has to offer, we will also show the impact that this music has had on our own individual musical voices. Ultimately, there is nothing that makes me happier than playing great songs with my best friends and my hope is to share that happiness with audiences all over!

Handel’s Messiah holds a unique place in the classical music canon. It is the most famous oratorio ever written, thanks in part to the tradition of annual performances that began during Handel’s lifetime and continue today, a testament to the power of the music to reach diverse audiences across generations. Messiah tells the story of Jesus not as a linear narrative, but rather as reflections of his life and its symbolic significance. It has become a Christmas season classic.

Burien Actors Theatre (BAT) brings laughter to the season with their Northwest premiere of the holiday comedy The Past, a Present Yet to Come, written by Matt Schatz.

In this irreverent imagining of how Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol came to be written, a young entrepreneur in Victorian London sets out to produce a play that will soften his Uncle Ebenezer Scrooge’s hard heart. He turns to no-nonsense theatre producer J.B. Roth, who engages a broke, philandering Dickens. Are there ulterior motives for this unlikely mission to save Scrooge?

The Past, a Present Yet to Come contains a little adult language and some adult content.

There is plenty of free on-site parking—follow the signs into the parking lot and around the buildings to the entrance, which is in back.

This evening of duets by choreographers Bebe Miller with Angie Hauser & Darrell Jones, Maurya Kerr/tinypistol, and Rachael Lincoln with Leslie Seiters, is built on long-term creative partnerships. These artists were curated for the ways they each think deeply and differently about dance, inspiration, and the body in motion. Each work has a distinct choreographic style, from improvisation and playful experiments to a soft collision with movement. The evening asks us to consider different modes of relation: between artists, across decades, in conversation with lineage, and with embodied inquiry.

Celebrate the holidays with Steve Messick's Holiday Jazz Showcase, featuring jazz arrangements of holiday favorites and mashups.

Let your imagination take flight in the Birds of Paradise zone, swan into this area where magnificent peacocks flaunt their flamboyant plumes and birds of a feather perch on enchanted branches. Finally, embark on a journey Under the Jungle Canopy and spot all the mischievous monkeys hiding in the foliage!

The Seattle Men’s Chorus rings in everyone’s favorite holiday tradition: seasonal classics, Christmas comedy, costumes, dancing and the gayest sing-along in Seattle. We premiere NOTcracker Suite…our very own four-minute rendition of the holiday staple featuring hilarious lyrics, props, and antics you expect from the Men’s Chorus. It’s the holliest, jolliest time of the year!

Ring in the holidays with a 2-hour excursion that begins out of North Bend Depot with a ride to the Railway History Campus. There you will have an hour to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate, seasonal crafts, photo opportunities, and visit with Santa in the restored Chapel Car 5 where all children receive a gift from him. Afterward you will hop back aboard and return to North Bend.

Yuletide Express - Fridays December 5, 12, & 19; Saturdays November 29, December 6, 13, & 20
A shorter experience still perfect for making holiday memories! This round-trip train ride will take you from Snoqualmie Depot to the top of Snoqualmie Falls for a gorgeous winter view of the Snoqualmie River Valley. Santa rides aboard the train and visits with every family during the ride. All children receive a gift from Santa and all passengers receive a peppermint treat upon returning to Snoqualmie.
