Sequim City Band presents “Let’s Go Sequimming!”
The finale concert of Crazy Callen Weekend, a part of the 131st Sequim Irrigation Festival, highlights the power and beauty of water-an essential element in Sequim’s history and identity.
The irrigation ditches that shaped the Sequim-Dungeness Valley remind us how water sustains our community and fuels growth. Beyond our fields, those same waters connect to winding rivers and open seas—pathways of travel, trade, and imagination—reflected in today’s program of seafaring journeys and waterfront scenes. Enjoy ‘Victory at Sea’ by Richard Rodgers, ‘Titanic’ by James Horner, the campy festive piece following Jack Sparrow ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’ by Hans Zimmer.
The Sequim City Band is a vibrant, all-volunteer community ensemble dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the Sequim area through engaging and accessible performances. The band presents a variety of concerts throughout the year, celebrating music for audiences of all ages.
In recognition of its significant contributions to arts and culture, as well as its ongoing commitment to the community, the band received the prestigious 2023 Governor’s Arts & Heritage Award.
Interested musicians are welcome to attend weekly rehearsals every Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Chuck Swisher Rehearsal Hall at the James Center for the Performing Arts, located at 506 N Blake Ave, Sequim, WA. If you’re interested in joining the band, please contact us!
