8th Annual Bellingham SeaFest 2024 - October 5-6
Bellingham SeaFeast, a free annual celebration of maritime heritage and local waterfront culture, is set to return for its 8th year on Saturday and Sunday, Oct 5 & 6, 2024, on the historic Bellingham waterfront. Since 2016, Bellingham SeaFeast has become a cornerstone of local waterfront culture with family-friendly activities, delicious seafood, vibrant entertainment, and a window into Bellingham’s waterfront activities.
Seafood Extravaganza: Indulge in a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes with over 16 food vendors, most featuring seafood including salmon, cod, crab, oysters, scallops and more. Watch locally caught salmon cooked on a traditional Lummi Nation firepit and enjoy a plate of this much anticipated Northwest fare. Enjoy a brew with a view in our Beer, Wine & Cider Garden and kids, and adults alike, will love our Sundaes on Sunday Root Beer Garden presented by Mallard Ice Cream. And don’t forget to bring seafood home for later from Bellingham Dockside Market offering seafood straight from local fishing families.
Boathouse Experience SeaFeast is honored to host White Swan Environmental in the Squalicum Boathouse for both Saturday & Sunday where they will showcase a reef net exhibit, movies and their 13 moons planetarium. This special engagement allows visitors to learn about their family's history, mission, and origins and what they are planning for the future.
Speakers at the Working Waterfront: Hear from maritime leaders, authors and poets as they share their ocean-inspired experience at the Working Waterfront Coalition office. Speakers include Rena Priest, Washington State Poet Laureate and Lummi Nation member; Susan Conrad, an author and kayaker; Tom Crestodina, fisherman and illustrator; David Neuman with EVOOGUY discussing high-quality olive oils and more. Boat Rides & Industry Tours: Experience the waterfront in a new way with a boat ride around the bay with San Juan Cruises or tour All American Marine’s facility in Squalicum Harbor to learn about some of the most innovative enterprises in their industries. Tickets available on SeaFeast’s website.
Live Entertainment: Enjoy performances from local musicians and entertainers throughout the day. The main stage will feature live music, cultural performances, traditional maritime songs, as well as an informative panel featuring local government officials discussing the current and future evolution of Bellingham’s waterfront. The U.S. Coast Guard will also be doing a rescue at sea demo which visitors can watch from the shores of Bellingham Bay. See the full lineup on SeaFeast’s website.
Salmon Run 5k: New this year! Dive into the fun and join us for a FREE Salmon Run 5K on Sunday, October 6 at 9am. Head down to Bellingham Bay for a 5k loop around the harbor sponsored by Summit Sports Chiropractic. Costumes are encouraged, so don your best maritime-inspired attire. Pinball Tournament & Arcade: New this year! NW Flash Arcade will be hosting a Three Strike Pinball and Pingolf Tournament. Sign up and win! Registration is available on SeaFeast’s website.
Maritime Education & Interactive Activities: SeaFeast offers a range of engaging activities for all ages, including educational exhibits, guess the fish activity, kids wooden boat building, LEGO building, craft booths, and exploration of ocean plants and wildlife.
