KNKX and Fresh Ground Stories present Pandemic and Protests

UPDATE, Sept. 12: Thank you for attending Pandemic and Protests. If you were unable to attend or would like to view the program again, please see the link below.

KNKX and Fresh Ground Stories present Pandemic and Protests: A Live Virtual Storytelling Event on Zoom on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. PDT. Hosted by KNKX's Jennifer Wing and Fresh Ground Stories' Paul Currington. Supported by Story Fruition through its work with new storytellers.

Hosts Jennifer and Paul will introduce us to six storytellers. Their stories include one about a peaceful activist and war veteran who was tear gassed at Seattle's Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ, and a story about a Seattle man who took the Harvard Implicit Bias test before, during, and after a Peace Corps assignment in Namibia.

Before joining KNKX in 1999, Jennifer Wing worked for KGMI in Bellingham, WILM News Radio in Wilmington, Delaware, and Northwest Cable News in Seattle. She got her start in public radio at WRTI and WHYY in Philadelphia. Jennifer grew up in Philadelphia and received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Temple University.

Paul Currington hosts Fresh Ground Stories, one of Seattle’s longest-running live storytelling shows. Paul has a history in stand-up comedy, before switching over to storytelling. He was drawn to the format because he found it to be a richer medium to tell stories that were not just black and white.

“Pandemic and Protests” Stories About Life During COVID-19 and the Fight for Racial Equality recorded live on Zoom on Sept. 11, 2020.
