Washington joins effort to stop streamlining of AI data center permitting

Washington has joined other states pushing the Trump administration to drop a proposal that would streamline permitting requirements on AI data centers and other plans. The Environmental Protection Agency wants to eliminate required public notice and comment periods for projects it deems "minor sources" of pollution.
