Fire crews continue to battle the state’s largest blaze. The Kaiser Canyon Fire in Northeastern Washington, still largely uncontained, is mainly burning on the Colville Reservation and has displaced more than 1,000 people from the area, including the entire town of Nespelem.
The Red Cross is among the agencies moving quickly to set up shelters and recruit volunteers to serve people who have been evacuated.
