Quintard Taylor died Sunday in Houston. He was 76 years old. A former longtime history professor at the University of Washington, Taylor started the research website BlackPast.
Taylor was also the author of numerous books, including "The Forging of a Black Community," an extensive history of Seattle's Central District.
