The state board of natural resources has voted in favor of a resolution to formally adopt Washington’s ban on commercial net pen fish farming in state waters.
Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz issued an executive order to create the ban in 2022. But she needed the approval of the 6-member Board of Natural Resources to make it a reality.
