Washington wage transparency law takes effect Jan. 1

A new state law meant to improve wage transparency may cause employees to ask for better pay or find another job.

The law is scheduled to take effect on January 1st. It will require employers with more than 15 workers to include salary ranges and benefits in job postings. Currently, employers are only required to disclose pay when the job is offered, and if a candidate asks for it.
