Jazz is a music based on improvisation, and evolution. Moving through Dixieland, swing, bebop, free jazz, fusion and beyond can make describing what jazz is a difficult proposition. KNKX jazz host Abe Beeson spoke to three generations of musicians to find a definition.

Two titans of American music, Count Basie and Frank Sinatra teamed up for concerts and made three albums together in the 1960s.  The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra directed by Clarence Acox and Michael Brockman celebrated that fabulous combination in their November concerts when they were joined by Danny Quintero as guest singer.
