South Korean authorities charged the acting head of Samsung and four other executives at the company in connection with a corruption scandal that led to the impeachment of the country's president.

Jay Y. Lee, vice president of Samsung, has been taken in on charges of bribery and embezzlement. He's been a central figure in a corruption scandal that brought President Park Geun-hye's impeachment.

The unanimous decision means that if Samsung swiped the design for one part of a phone from Apple, it may not need to hand over profits from the entire device. The case goes back to a lower court.

The Supreme Court hears oral arguments on Tuesday in a case that pits Samsung against Apple — and could have major repercussions for tech products across the board.

Samsung is advising owners of certain top-loading washers to use only the delicate cycle when washing bulky items because "affected units may experience abnormal vibrations."

U.S. users trying to take part in Samsung's unofficial recall find themselves winding through a network of stores and unclear guidelines. The government has yet to announce a formal recall.

The Federal Aviation Administration is warning owners of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone not to turn their phones on or charge them during flights — and not to put the devices in checked bags, either.

Samsung says it paid too much in damages after Apple accused it of copying aspects of the iPhone's design, arguing, "The law of the smartphone cannot follow reflexively from the law of the spoon."
