New CD by Tom Keenlyside, Mardi Gras coming on Jazz Northwest

This week on Jazz Northwest, Vancouver flutist Tom Keenlyside debuts a new CD remembering an all-night coffeehouse where he found his love for jazz. Miles Black and Brad Turner join him on this new CD, "A Night at The Espresso." Also on this week's show, we anticipate Mardis Gras with Brazilian piano music played by Geisa Dutra, and guitarist Bola Sete is heard playing on a live 1968 broadcast from The Penthouse in Seattle.

Also on this week's show, Cory Weeds new CD with strings, Phil Kelly's Northwest Prevailing Winds, singer Jenny Davis, pianist Bill Anschell and others.

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
