Final week of the Earshot Jazz Festival

The 2021 edition of the Earshot Jazz Festival moves into its final week and some of the artists appearing will be sampled on today's episode of Jazz Northwest. Featured will be saxophonist Mark Lewis, pianist Benny Green, pianist-composer Ann Reynolds, vocal artist Jay Clayton, and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. Jay Clayton, who lived in Seattle in the 80s and 90s while teaching at Cornish College, will be heard with fellow jazz faculty members Julian Priester, Gary Peacock and Jerry Granelli.in a performance recorded at Jazz Alley. New CDs by Ann Reynolds and Alex Dugdale are also featured in this show.

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
