Two Western Washington high school bands finished in the top three at the "Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 16th Annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival Saturday.
KING 5 TV reports Seattle's Roosevelt High School took second place and Mountlake Terrace High School took third.
Dillard Center for the Arts of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. won the competition.
Roosevelt, which performed Friday night, previously won the competition in 2002, 2007 and 2008.
It's the second time Mountlake Terrace, which performed Saturday morning, has finished in the top three.
Seattle's Garfield High School, the two-time defending champion, did not qualify this year. Garfield has won the competition four times.
