CWU Women in Jazz Day
The Central Washington University Jazz Education Network chapter will be holding its fourth annual Women in Jazz Day, and our second online Women in Jazz Day!
This event is FREE and open to all ages and genders!
Come for a day full of clinics, masterclasses, and a panel discussion featuring guest artists, Alexa Tarantino, Chloe Rowlands, Karina Colis, Noriko Ueda, and Arietta Ward.
Our Mission is to address the absence of female representation in the jazz idiom and to inspire girls and women to continue to pursue playing jazz throughout their educational journeys and beyond. Our event will have clinics and discussions for students of all ability levels, as well as clinics for future and current educators (of ALL genders) who want to increase their awareness and address this issue in their own classrooms.
You are welcome to attend this event from the comfort of your home, but we will also have an in-person option as well. We would love to see you in person! We will have sessions playing on screens throughout the CWU Music Building with professional microphones available to use for interactive sessions. We will also be having an all-female & non-binary jam session in person in the CWU Music Building and a closing concert featuring the Lady Cats.
