Screening of the documentary film: BACK TO THE HOUSE OF TOMORROW
This documentary is the story of an iconic mid-century house, important for its role in Palm Springs history, for its futuristic architectural design, and for its personal themes of family and community, great loss and renewal.
The film explores the decline of the house over the decades, its controversial fame as the Elvis Presley Honeymoon Hideaway, and its return to its original glory. Turned away by tragedy, Jill Alexander Kitnick returns to the house, sharing childhood memories from the early 1960s.
Designed by architect William Krisel for the family of renowned Palm Springs developer, Robert Alexander, the House of Tomorrow remains one of Palm’s Springs most-photographed homes.
With a premiere at Modernism Week this past February in Palm Springs, "Back to the House of Tomorrow" comes to Seattle for the first time.
