The Jeff Hamilton Trio performs original compositions and Great American Songbook selections from several of their recordings.
Jeff Hamilton is a world-renowned jazz drummer known for his dynamic swing, impeccable brushwork, and deep musicality. He has played with legends like Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, and Diana Krall. As a leader of the Jeff Hamilton Trio and co-leader of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, he continues to inspire. With a career spanning decades, Hamilton has appeared on hundreds of recordings and performed at major jazz festivals worldwide. His signature style blends traditional bebop roots with modern sensibilities, making him one of the most respected drummers in jazz. His influence extends through his performances, recordings, and dedication to mentoring the next generation.
Tadataka Unno, born 1980 in Tokyo, Japan, is a distinguished jazz pianist with an expressive style. He began playing piano at age four and discovered jazz at age nine. Unno studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and was an active member of the Tokyo jazz scene. In 2008, he moved to New York and quickly earned the respect of prominent jazz figures. He became a favorite of jazz legends like Hank Jones, Frank Wess and Jimmy Cobb. Notably, he was the first and only regular Japanese member of the Jimmy Cobb Trio and the Roy Hargrove Quintet.
Jon Hamar, a bassist from Kennewick, WA, has been a staple in the music scene for over 20 years. He began playing bass at age 11 and continued through public school and college, earning a Bachelor's degree in Classical Double Bass Performance from Eastern Washington University and a Master's in Jazz and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music. He has performed with renowned artists such as Ernestine Anderson, Benny Golson, and Terell Stafford, and his versatility and work ethic have made him a sought-after musician.
Boxleys is a small, intimate Jazz club in downtown North Bend, Washington, featuring live music and beverages, specifically beer, wine, cocktails, sodas, and coffee. Boxleys is NOT a restaurant and no dinner will be served. Space is limited for this special event. There is no reserved seating.
Doors will open at 6:45pm for the 7:30pm show.
