Jazz Underground at the Royal Room
Founded in 2004, Jazz Underground is a Seattle-based contemporary jazz big band. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of music from Count Basie, Buddy Rich and Stan Kenton to Michael League, Lalo Schifrin, Pat Metheny, Donald Byrd, Ayn Inserto, Clifford Brown, Frank Zappa, John Harmon and Patty Darling. In addition, the group performs music by Pacific Northwest composers and arrangers, including original tunes by members of the band.
