WA advocates raise concerns over a proposal to change Head Start

The Trump administration announced proposed changes Thursday for the early education Head Start program. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said this would remove unnecessary bureaucracy, save the program money and allow it to serve more kids. The changes could increase class sizes, remove required screenings and relegate oversight to the states.

Washington education advocates worry it will weaken their services.
