Register to Attend KNKX Studio Sessions

KNKX records and produces exclusive Studio Sessions every month with world-class jazz and blues musicians from around the world and the Northwest. We also like to use Studio Sessions as an opportunity to showcase the talented local students participating in our award-winning School of Jazz program.

Studio Sessions typically last around an hour, but the exact program will depend on the artist. You can usually expect about 15-45 minutes of sound check and mingling, followed by 20-30 minutes of recorded studio session time. This consists of 2 to 3 songs followed by an interview from one of our hosts.

We'd love for you to join us for a session in our new Seattle studios next to Pike Place Market. Below you will find more information about each upcoming Studio Session along with a link to register.

Studio Sessions are very popular and are free to attend.

Please register for only one per three months so others can enjoy the show!

Francesco Crosara

Hosted by Abe Beeson

Friday, August 9, 2024, 1:00 PM

Francesco Crosara is a Seattle-based Italian jazz pianist, composer and educator, typically performing in a range of formats, from solo, duet, trio, quartet, or more. Originally from Milan, Italy, Francesco's music melds an impressive mix of jazz improvisation, a romantic vein from his classical training, along with Latin influences. His major piano influences are Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Herbie Hancock. His new album, Circular Motion, is out on Origin Records. From a lifetime of music creation, Francesco selected 10 of his compositions from the last 40 years with the idea of highlighting the nexus between early work, with its simplicity and youthful appeal, to later works where he expressed richer harmonic textures and possibilities.
