Jazz Northwest presents Maria Schneider conducting the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra

The multi-award-winning composer and arranger Maria Schneider conducted The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra in two concerts of her music earlier this month.  The second concert, at Kirkland Performance Center, was recorded and excerpts will be featured on Jazz Northwest Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. PST on 88.5 KNKX, streaming at knkx.org.

All the music in these concerts was composed and/or arranged by Schneider, and has been recorded by her New York-based orchestra, which has toured internationally and is playing this weekend at Jazz Standard in New York. Maria Schneider has won five Grammy Awards and numerous jazz polls. She was recently named recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellowship, the nation's highest award for jazz artists. Her recordings are available through ArtistShare.

This broadcast will not repeat and, at the request of the artist, will not be available on demand or as a podcast.
