A King County prosecutor who police began investigating after the arrest of a former University of Washington basketball player has resigned. The Seattle Times reports 33-year-old Leah Altaras resigned Sept. 6.
She had been in paid administrative leave since May 25 when her connections to former Husky Doug Wrenn began to be investigated. Wrenn has been charged with a misdemeanor, accused of repeatedly harassing his ex-girlfriend through phone calls, text messages, photographs and emails.
Court documents show police began investigating Altaras after she was seen by a maintenance worker at Wrenn's Bellevue condominium the night he was arrested. Police say phone records also revealed Altaras and Wrenn spoke several times after his arrest, at one point telling him she "has the phone."
Altaras has not been charged criminally. She could not be reached Wednesday for comment.
