Founded by Pianist Yogi McCaw, the Yoginis Indian Jazz project has performed in India as well as the USA. We have been featured in the Times of India, the Indian Express and on the Jazz Network Worldwide. Our music has appeared in the acclaimed film Dalai Lama Renaissance featuring His Holiness, and they have won top 10 placement in the WOMEX International Songwriting contest.
Locally we have performed at Flavors of India and the The Anandamela Festival, the Northwest's two top Indian cultural festivals, and are Jack Straw Artist Support recipients. Yogi has been featured in the Renton Reporter, his city of residence in the Seattle area.

Yogi McCaw (bandleader, composer, keyboards) Having played since age 6, and appeared with many rock, R&B, jazz, and world music groups, Yogi brings a unique and very diverse perspective to composing and performing. His interest in Indian music began when he was a teenager and then later as a young adult when he studied the art of meditation and traveled to India. These travels led to his meeting and collaborating with musicians from India, and were the inspiration for the development of the Yoginis Indian Jazz Project. He has worked with the two-time Juno award winning African balafonist Naby Camara, the acclaimed Red Hot Blues Sisters, Bollywood playback singer Chandana Dixit, and Ed Mays' Groove Kitchen R&B Revue. Yogi currently plays in numerous ensembles, among them Bob Antolin's Comfort Food (African/Jazz fusion), and "Elvis" singer Tony Colinares (Graceland Manila Band), as well as jazz duets with his favorite singer Stacey Israel.

Dennis Staskowski (Bass) arrived in Seattle by way of Detroit and Los Angeles, and has since performed & recorded with numerous artists, including composers Byron Au Yong and Sumiko Sato, as well as the improvisational group Bass/Hornz, and Northwest-based groups including the Seattle Creative Music Orchestra, One Hand Clapping, the Valse Cafe Orchestra, Opera Jupiter, and the Deepak Ram Quintet.

Bob Antolin (Reeds, guitar), instructor of woodwinds at Seattle Central College, is a multi-instrument talent, composer, arranger and producer. Studied sitar with North Indian master ZM Dagar. Studied saxophone with Joe Brazil, Carter Jefferson and Julius Hemphill. Studied ethnomusicology at the University of Washington. As a producer, recent studio projects include CD releases and recordings from Guinean singer Edward Sourez, Guinean singer Aboubocar Kouyate, Malian stars Madu Kone (Habib Koite) and Moustafa Kouyate (Bassekou Kouyate) and Congolese singer Eckaman.

Larry Mahlis is a drummer/percussionist with over 20 years professional experience. He is known as an original and versatile voice on drum set and percussion and has performed in the US, Japan, Mexico and Canada.Since 1997 Larry has been an instructor at the Seattle Drum School. While at the Drum School Larry has taught beginning to advanced orchestral and rudimental snare, drum set in all styles. Larry also teaches North Indian Tabla, Middle Eastern Frame drums, Darabukka and beginning Conga, Djembe, Timpani and Mallets.Larry has performed with new age artists David Lanz and John Serrie, Native American flautist Gary Strautsos, tablas Maestro Vishal Nagar, and with Bob Antolin's Comfort Food Band.

Anil Prasad (Tablas) began at age 7 accompanying his mother Prahba Devi, a famous Indian vocalist and sitar player. He is a student of the Tabla Maestro Zakir Hussein, and has studied with Ustad Amran Khan as well. Known for his virtuosity and flexibilty, he has performed with Indian violinist Indradeep Ghosh, Rock Guitarist Trey Gunn, Sarod Maestro Richard Russell, and Sitar Virtuoso Debi Prasad Chatterjee to name just a few.
