A New Composition for String Quartet,
Performed On Handmade Instruments,
Made With Locally Salvaged Materials.

This past year, I've been working on a project supported by funding from the City of Tacoma Arts Commission through the Tacoma Artists Initiative Program that brings together three parts of my creative practice: building three musical stringed instruments from reclaimed materials, composing an original three-movement string quartet written specifically for those instruments, and performing the world premiere alongside local musicians.

The string quartet runs 15 minutes, followed by a presentation and Q&A where I'll talk through the full process - from sourcing reclaimed materials to finishing the instruments to bringing the music to life.
